Working on a Shopify landing page starts with a product or service which it’s supposed to sell. After choosing one, you’ll place every single element on your page to make it work well with the product. But there are so many things you’ve got to consider and so many possible mistakes to make, that coming up with some kind of plan seems to be a good idea.

Let’s begin with some good practices that will set the right direction for further work:

A) Make it simple

If there’s one idea you should stick to while creating your e-commerce landing page, it’s simplicity. No matter how complex your product is, do whatever you want to present it in a simplest way you can imagine.

Keep in mind that there’s someone at the other side of the screen – someone who’s not necessarily familiar with your product. So keep it simple, but don’t avoid explaining most important things.

B) Keep the design cohesive

Let’s say that the user visits a landing page because he clicked a link in a Facebook Ad. What I want to say is that both the ad and the landing page should share the design, they are supposed to look similar to avoid confusion.

So you have a design, a headline, some pictures and/or a video. Now it’s time to say something about the product. What is it? How users would benefit from it? Why is it the best choice for them? What makes it special? The thing is, you have to answer all these questions in no more than a few sentences.

Focus on most important facts and benefits to keep your visitors interested and to convince them to your product. Try to bullet-list all the catchy features, but feel free to skip less important ones – you can mention them on product page, where you’ll have to include all information about the product.

F) Straightforward CTA

A Call to Action is one of the most important element of your e-commerce landing page. Basically, hitting the CTA button means that a landing page did its job. Make it happen by creating a short, straightforward CTA.

G) Testimonials / Social Proof

You’re not the only one who loves your product – show it to the world!
