TABLE OF CONTENT

If you are on the hunt for an alternative to Instapage, you probably know all the ins and outs of the platform: easiness of page creation, hundreds of templates, massive integration potential but at the same time, very high pricing, frequent bugs, and a lack of professional analytics. Fortunately, there is at least one tool that holds all of its pros while being free of its key weak spots. Get to know the best Instapage alternative in 2024: Landingi!

In this post, we compare both platforms based on our first-hand tests and users’ opinions analyzed from G2, GetApp, and Trustpilot.

If you are familiar with Instapage, you may just skip to the Landingi section. For a quick overview of both tools’ key features and rates, just take a look below.

Landingi vs Instapage comparison

Let’s get to it!

Make your sections smartable and let go of mundane manual tasks with Smart Sections! An easy way to manage bulk changes.

Instapage

Instapage, founded in 2012 by Tyson Quick, is headquartered in San Francisco, California. The company focuses on providing solutions for digital marketing, particularly in the realm of landing page creation and optimization. Instapage has raised significant venture capital funding over the years, reflecting investor confidence in its business model and growth potential. The company has also been recognized for its contributions to the marketing technology sector, receiving various awards and accolades.

What is Instapage?

Instapage is a page building tool that empowers businesses to create and optimize high-converting landing pages. It includes an array of functionalities such as A/B testing, personalization, heatmaps, and basic banalytics. It can be integrated with various marketing tools and CRMs.

Why People are Using Instapage?

People are using Instapage due to its clear and user-friendly interface, an decent number of landing page templates, many integrations, and high-rated support. Find below the list of the most relevant pros of the platform I’ve found during the research on G2, GetApp and TrustPilot. Only opinions repeated in multiple users’ comments were taken into account.

  • straightforward interface easy to navigate all to creating features,
  • impressive integration capabilities with various digital marketing apps and platforms,
  • a hundred of customizable templates for different page types,
  • very helpful human support, many useful onboarding tips and plenty of educational marketing materials,
  • seamless work within the digital marketing campaigns, including paid ones.

Creating landing pages with the drag and drop editor has made our work go quickly and super easy. The ability to A/B test is also wonderful and again super easy. The best part is that it integrates with our WordPress website seamlessly.” (Gina B., GetApp, 2023)

What are Instapage Disadvantages?

Disadvantages of Instapage most frequently mentioned by users on G2, GetApp and TrustPilot include high pricing, bugs occurring on a regular basis and surprisingly poor tools for reporting and user behavior analytics. The list below presents the most common weak spots indicated in reviews:

  • extremely high pricing, inadequate for a tool that is a landing page builder only,
  • frequent bugs and technical issues, especially while applying custom codes or advanced design solutions,
  • limited reporting and analytics capabilities (for detailed user data connecting external tools like Google Analytics is needed),
  • the mobile versions of created pages typically need additional efforts and adjustments for perfection,
  • some templates look outdated.

One of the most frustrating aspects was the presence of random bugs within the product. These unexpected glitches not only disrupted my workflow but also eroded my confidence in the product’s reliability. It was disheartening to encounter these issues repeatedly, as they hindered my ability to use the product effectively” (Bao T., G2, 31 Jan 2024)

Instapage Key Features

Instapage’s key features include creating landing pages smoothly with a user-friendly drag-and-drop editor (from scratch or using landing page templates), AI tools for content generation, and a set of conversion rates optimization tools. All of these can be effectively employed to generate leads in digital marketing campaigns.

100+ Landing Page Templates

Unfortunately, we start with a little disappointment. Instapage offers only 100+ templates, which is a poor number these days, especially compared to Landingi (300+) or other famous Instapage alternatives.

What’s worse, the provided kits are mostly barely different from each other. While it’s true that details can sometimes be crucial, at the very beginning of the process, I’d like to have a wider selection to choose from. Especially when we take into account that different industries and page types require different approaches in terms of structure, colors, fonts, etc.

Another weak spot is the template library itself and the way how you can search for specific kits. There is only one criterion: the page type. No main theme, color, or industry choice is available. Thus, it takes some time to identify the layout you are looking for (provided you don’t get discouraged earlier)

The templates are well-composed and conversion-driven. All the elements (sections, headlines, buttons, CTAs) are properly distributed from a UX perspective. On the other, their age is apparent in them, and a bit of refreshment would be for sure beneficial.

Building Landing Pages

In Instapage, you may create a standard landing page or an AMP landing page. The first is a typical one, while the second is auto-optimized for mobile devices to comply with Google AMP. The AMP landing page performance is better, but it has some code and feature limitations.

Instapage features an easy-to-use editor with a drag-and-drop interface. The menu is clean, and everything is where you think it is. The available widgets are the same as in the best alternatives to Instapage (Landingi, Unbounce and Lead Pages): headline, paragraph, form, button, image, carousel, video, box, circle, lines, timers, and custom codes.

There is, however, at least one thing that adds extra value: Instablocks. It’s a library of pre-defined elements and solutions you can instantly put on your pages, such as CTA, card, checklist, comparison, contact us, countdown, bar (alert bars & promo bars), event agenda, event speakers, and FAQ. For each element type, you can choose from a range of a few templates. This enables you to create landing pages much quicker. Nevertheless, just like in the case of templates, blocks are often similar to each other and more diversity would take the process to the next level.

Just like the best Instapage alternatives, the platform allows for mobile editing. Suprisingly, this mode is very limited in functions. You can change the position and size of individual elements and activate or deactivate them in the mobile view. That’s all. Most competitors give you more freedom of mobile customization.

AI Content Generation

The AI content solution in Instapage is very simple. You may apply it to any piece of text you placed on your landing page. The tool is able to write it for you based on very little information including product/service details and target audience characteristics. It works like Chat GPT 3.0, so the results typically are far from perfect. But of course, you can iterate the process to obtain better proposals and finally make some edits to nail it.

One of the fundamental principles of AI states: the more and the more accurate the input data, the better the output. Therefore, the simplicity of the Instapage is hardly understandable. A few additional settings for tone of voice, brand identity, landing page goal, etc., would add to the product more value. In its current form, the tool lags far behind the competition.

Optimization Tools

Instapage optimization tools comprise:

  • A/B Testing: Allows users to test different versions of a landing page to determine which one brings more conversions.
  • AI Experiments: Automatically choose and test appropriate page variants to check which one performs better, and then direct ad traffic to higher-performing one without manual oversight.
  • Heatmaps and Analytics: Provides insights into visitor behavior to help optimize page performance.
  • AdMap®: Connects ads to relevant landing pages and visualizes the customer journey.

It’s no secret that optimized landing pages have higher conversion rates, so a set of testing & optimization tools is today a must-have for landing page builders. This is the field where Instapage proves its power. The most valuable are multi-variant server-side tests, which are frequently missing in the best Instapage alternatives. Also, visualizing user behavior with heatmaps helps to understand big datasets in almost no time.

Just like Instapage’s landing page content generation tool, their AI Experiments feature seems underdeveloped. The selection of tested variants is sometimes strange, so I suggest keeping manual control over this process.

User behavior analytics mainly includes clicks on individual elements counted from all page visits. This is relatively little compared to the features of Landingi’s EventTracker (where you can track scrolls, form submissions, and custom events), but it still allows you to understand what users are most interested in and which elements are prone to be overlooked.

Other Features

Instapage allows you to integrate created pages into the sales funnel (or even a kind of marketing funnel), though its capabilities here are basic (for sure, it’s not ClickFunnels). No additional management tools or advanced workflow configuration features are on the board. But this is the same as in the majority of Instapage alternatives.

Also, there are very few marketing automation solutions, so to perform digital marketing campaigns you must use integrations with external tools, at least with an email marketing tool and CRM. If you sell products, you’ll need to connect apps for online sales and payments.

To summarize, Instapage is only landing page builder. Yes, it’s one of the best landing page builders in the field, but you cannot expect from it the full potential of a digital marketing platform.

Instapage Integrations

Instapage goes with 100 integrations covering most of the significant digital marketing use cases: automation platforms, e-mail marketing tools, CRMs, e-commerce software, apps for analytics, advertising, calls, pop-ups, chats, webinars – all of these are included. Importantly, only a few integrations are in-app. The rest are divided into compatible ones and those through Zapier (requiring more effort and some technical expertise on your end). Instapage Pricing & Plans

Instapage pricing features two plans: “Build” for $299/month and “Convert” for custom prices revealed by the sales team during the consultation. In other words, you choose between expensive and very expensive solutions. The amounts we’re talking about make the product pricey and out of reach for small businesses. On the other hand, there is no value justifying why large companies should pay so much for a product that does not surpass cheaper competitors in any way. Either way, the essential features of both plans are listed below.

The basic plan (“Build”) includes:

  • landing page building
  • unlimited conversion,
  • A/B testing,
  • AI content creation,
  • unlimited pop-ups,
  • Instablocks,
  • AMP Pages,
  • dynamic text replacement,
  • forms,
  • reCAPTCHA,
  • and integrations.

If it’s not enough, you may subscribe to a “Convert” plan, which adds to then above-mentioned features the following items:

  • ad platforms integrations,
  • editable global blocks,
  • user-behavior heatmaps,
  • custom fonts, page migration services,
  • custom feature implementation,
  • audit logs,
  • conversion consulting,
  • design services,
  • customer success manager.

There is no free plan, but the “Basic” plan starts with a free 14-day trial, so you can test the platform at no cost.

Landingi – Best Instapage Alternative

Landingi has been a serious player in digital marketing for almost 15 years. It started as a top page builder and has since expanded to meet a wide range of marketing needs in one tool. Now, it offers features like creating digital assets (pages, pop-ups, lightboxes), AI-driven content generation, and advanced analytics for optimizing conversions based on data.

What is Landingi?

Landingi is a cloud-based platform developed to facilitate the creation of landing pages, microsites and micropages. In the digital marketing realm, it’s commonly associated with an easy-to-navigate drag-and-drop interface, and no expertise is needed to take full advantage of its strengths. Landingi offers also a variety of templates (400+), A/B testing capabilities, and integration with different marketing tools. The mission of the platform is to streamline lead capture, sales generation, and campaign evaluation for marketers and businesses.

Why People are Using Landingi?

Users prefer Landingi for its intuitive drag-and-drop editor, enabling the design of visually appealing and conversion-focused landing pages. The platform features robust customization capabilities, numerous pre-designed templates, and a wide array of tools such as A/B testing, analytics, and continuously enhanced AI functionalities. Find below the detailed list of the most important strenghts of the platform I’ve found during the research on G2, GetApp, and TrustPilot. Only opinions repeated in multiple users’ comments were listed. Here are the bullet points:

  • an adaptable and easy-to-use builder able to create landing pages, micropages, pop-ups, forms, sections, lightboxes, and other elements without code,
  • a vast collection of professionally designed templates for various industries and goals,
  • outstanding customer support with 100% human interaction (no chatbots),
  • a full range of tools for user behavior analytics and testing,
  • reasonable pricing with no hidden fees,
  • comprehensive solutions tailored for agencies and big companies (advanced account management solutions, Smart Sections, and more),
  • seamless integrations with a variety of digital marketing tools and platforms,
  • constant development and frequent new functions releases like EventTracker and AI Assistant.

I love that Landingi makes it super easy to create, publish, and connect to your website and CRM. We created a landing page, did some a/b testing and optimizing. Its been super helpful as we are a small startup team. Also, anytime I had an issue, it was promptly taken care of. We use Landingi for our PPC campaigns as it was easy to implement and integrate.” (Brandon M., G2, 22 May 2024)

What are Landingi Disadvantages?

Landingi has a few minor drawbacks, such as some time necessary to learn the interface and the absence of built-in email marketing tools (only available through integrations). Overall, negative reviews of Landingi are quite rare. Most suggestions for improvement are woven into overall positive feedback. Here are the main points users mention most often (frequency in parentheses):

  • learning the interface takes a little while,
  • the automatically generated mobile view saves time but needs further refinements to be perfect,
  • the customization features for video and animation could be more extensive.

Landingi could improve its functionality regarding integration with certain external tools and platforms. Also, more extensive support for advanced SEO features would be beneficial.” (Mateusz D., G2, 11 Nov 2023)

Landingi Key Features

Landingi key features include an easy-to-use drag-and-drop interface for creating high-performing landing pages, microsites, pop-ups, forms, and interactive assets, suitable even for those without a technical background. The platform also includes a powerful AI toolkit and a bunch of analytics and conversion optimization tools (from A/B testing to tracking user on-site behavior).

Top-notch Landing Page Builder

A very intuitive drag-and-drop builder with an abundance of customization options is the most famous part of the Landingi platform. It allows you to build landing pages based on templates or custom ones developed from A to Z according to your concept. The tools available in Landingi for page creation include:

  • text boxes,
  • forms (with ready-to-use patterns),
  • buttons (also for payments),
  • images, icons, and effects,
  • videos or animations,
  • counters,
  • custom codes, and more.

Just like in the Instapage, Landingi also offers section templates. You can choose from the templates for hero, about, portfolio, benefits, services, numbers, testimonials, forms, headers, footers, contact, counters, ebook, features, pening hours, products, pricing, team, thank you and video. Templates differ to each other more compared to Instapage, which gives you more creative possibilities.

Moreover, Landingi has a feature called Smart Sections, which allows you to effortlessly enable or modify specific sections on various pages with just a few clicks.

Another important feature is Landingi’s mobile view editor. It allows users to tailor landing pages for mobile devices, ensuring optimal visual experience everywhere. Users can fine-tune elements’ sizes, visibility, and placement for a responsive, mobile-friendly design. Additionally, Landingi offers a tool that suggests a new layout for mobile with one click, simplifying and speeding up the design workflow.

400+ Kits for Landing Pages and Other Assets

Landingi boasts a larger selection of templates than its competitors, with over 400 kits for landing pages, pop-ups, and sections. These templates are categorized by purpose, industry, and color, making it easy for users to find the perfect fit.

Of course, users who prefer to build pages from scratch and keep full control of each detail may start the project with a black canvas.

Multipurpose AI Assistant

Landingi offers a suite of advanced AI tools, including a copy generator powered by the latest version of ChatGPT. However, this tool, unlike its counterpart from Instapage, uses predefined prompts to create accurate and tailored copy. By inputting key details about your brand, audience, and communication style, you can quickly generate content for your landing pages.

If the initial result isn’t perfect, the ‘regenerate‘ option provides an immediate alternative.

Another potential application is using the AI Assistant for SEO tasks, including auto-generating and filling in descriptions and meta descriptions.

Also, Landingi is developing its AI image editing functions, allowing users to remove and change image backgrounds with a single click, with more features coming soon.

Harness the power of AI to generate copy, edit images, and improve SEO. All within a single platform.
Save time and get one step closer to perfection.

Conversion Optimization Set

In the field of conversion optimization, Landingi excels with its quite extensive toolset. The platform not only facilitates landing page creation but also provides numerous CRO tools that gather essential user interaction data, test their behavior, and provide you with professional metrics necessary to understand your target audience. All of these lay the groundwork for strategic decisions, improving design strategies and increasing conversion rates. Two optimization tools on Landingi stand out as especially useful.

  • The A/B testing (including multivariate and split testing) allows for easy, data-driven evaluations of different landing page versions (e.g., varying headlines, images, backgrounds) to determine which achieves higher conversion rates.
  • Meanwhile, EventTracker offers detailed tracking of user on-page activities like button clicks, scrolling, and video interactions, providing essential site analytics insights. It serves as a strong alternative to Google Analytics, especially for landing page optimization, addressing many of GA4’s limitations (multi-step configuration, only 3rd party cookies, manual event creation, lack of visual maps and human support). To check which events you can track with this tool take a look at the image below.

Of course, you can also easily integrate Landingi with Google Analytics. If you prefer more straightforward tools with fewer details, you can use simple dashboards and charts presenting page visits, conversion rates, and a few other important user actions.

What is EventTracker

Agency Toolkit

Agencies, enterprises, and global companies benefit primarily from scalability and efficient management. These features include handling numerous pages, customizing workflows, and advanced account management.

Landingi’s agency suite allows the creation of multiple sub-accounts for different clients, campaigns, and site types, all managed with adjustable permissions and intuitive dashboards.

For those needing to create many landing pages or websites, Landingi provides a specialized features:

  • Smart Sections allows you to update multiple landing pages simultaneously by modifying one section and saving it. The changes will automatically reflect on all pages using that section. This feature is particularly useful for large marketing campaigns or managing numerous sales pages, greatly reducing time spent on updates.
  • The dynamic content feature supports programmatic SEO strategies, allowing you to present varied content to different audiences. This is particularly useful for targeting specific demographics. For example, a real estate website can display property listings tailored to the visitor’s location, showing Paris and Nice properties to people located in France and Warsaw properties to Poland residents. This method ensures users see pertinent content, enhancing engagement.

Super-stable Infrastructure and High Performance

Landingi uses Amazon Web Services to ensure superior website security and usability. It integrates essential security features like two-factor authentication and the latest Re-Captcha technology, along with regular penetration testing by independent cybersecurity experts. This thorough security approach ensures solid protection and peak performance, making Landingi a trusted platform for leading global companies like:

  • Sony,
  • Warner Bros,
  • Opera,
  • Nationale-Nederlanden,
  • DAT,
  • PayU,
  • CBRE,
  • foodWell.

Landingi Integrations

With the ability to connect to more than 170 tools, Landingi is perfect for businesses using various marketing software. Its easy integration with popular brands simplifies app connectivity. The key tools it integrates with include:

  • email marketing platforms (GetResponse, Klaviyo, MailChimp, SendFox, Freshmail, ActiveCampaign, Constant Contact, etc.),
  • CRMs (HubSpot, Salesforce, Keap, Pipeline, CRM, Zoho, Brevo, ConvertKit, Firmao, Thrive Coach and others),
  • ecommerce toolkit (WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Chargify, PayPal, Stripe and more),
  • chat and support services (e.g., Freshchat, Zendesk, Intercom, Convolo, WhatsApp),

  • ad platforms (Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, etc.),
  • other programs and tools (Calendly, Booksy, Zapier, ClickSend, Excel, Gmail, Spotify, Drip, Slack, reCAPTCHA, Airbnb, Trustpilot, and much more).

Landingi Pricing & Plans

Landingi offers three pricing plans. The ‘Lite‘ plan starts at $29 per month ($290 if you pay for the whole year at once), the ‘Professional‘ plan costs $69 per month ($690 for a year), and the ‘Unlimited‘ plan is $999 per month ($9990 if paid annually). The ‘Lite’ and ‘Professional’ plans are available for a free trial, enabling you to use all the page creation tools without any upfront payment.

Each plan comes with a range of features. The main features of each plan are detailed below. Higher-priced plans include all the features of cheaper plans, along with additional monthly visits and more domains.

1. Lite ($29 a month):

  • asset builder (landing pages, websites, mobile pages, microsites, forms, pop-ups, lightboxes, thank-you-pages, sections),
  • 10 pages to build,
  • 400+ templates (300+ for landing pages, and 100+ for other assets),
  • 5,000 visits a month,
  • 1 custom domain (+SSL),
  • conversions without limits,
  • all the building components included (buttons, CTAs, visuals, forms, countdown timers, sliders, and many others),
  • calendars and maps embeds,

2. Professional ($49 a month):

  • unlimited landing pages (or other assets) to build,
  • 50,000 visits a month,
  • 10 custom domains (+SSLs).

3. Unlimited ($999 a month):

  • unlimited traffic,
  • 20 custom domains(+SSLs),
  • 20 subaccounts,
  • access to audit logs,
  • domain whitelisting,
  • reverse proxy publishing,
  • custom development (on demand),
  • lead generation advisory,
  • official partnership.

If the basic plans don’t meet your traffic or domain needs, you can buy extra packages from the add-on store. There are also many other useful features available in the store to assist with your daily tasks.

Why Landingi is Best Instapage Alternative?

Landingi is the best alternative to Instapage due to a wider selection of templates crafted for specific page types and industries, more advanced tools for improving conversion rates (like EventTracker), and more management features (which is great for agencies and big companies). Generally, Landingi aims to be an all-in-one solution, while Instapage is a great landing page builder and nothing beyond that. All the more surprising are the very high prices of the latter platform.

Either way, don’t buy a pig in a poke. Both platforms offer free trials, so it’s best to test them yourself before choosing the right tool. Good luck!
