Landingi as a best Mailchimp alternative - comparison
TABLE OF CONTENT

Exploring the best Mailchimp alternatives may, indeed, cause vertigo. ConvertKit, GetResponse, Constant Contact, Brevo, and plenty of other big names from the digital industry. In this post, nevertheless, I’m going to show you one more platform you probably haven’t yet explored, which proves better than Mailchimp in many digital marketing challenges, while staying much more affordable. Let me introduce Landingi!

Just like Mailchimp, Landingi evolves year after year to become an all-in-one digital marketing platform. No surprise that it has on the board a wide selection of features for various purposes: from building pages and other digital assets (pop-ups, lightboxes, forms and more) through AI content editing, advanced analytics, testing and conversion optimization to selling products.

Though Landingi is surely not an email marketing platform, it can be easily connected with almost any of the popular email marketing tools (including Mailchimp!).

Read on to find out when you should choose Mailchimp, and when Landingi would be a better option. Lay a strong foundation for your future decision.

If you are familiar with Mailchimp, you can navigate ahead to Landingi’s section. If you have no time for diving into details, just take a look at the quick overview in the table below:

landingi as a great mailchimp alternative (table comparison)

Let’s get to it!

Landing page builder

Mailchimp

Mailchimp was founded in 2001 by Ben Chestnut and Dan Kurzius in Atlanta, Georgia, originally as an email marketing software tool for small businesses. Over the years, it has evolved into a comprehensive marketing platform that now serves thousands of users worldwide, including both small and large enterprises.

What is Mailchimp?

Mailchimp is an all-in-one marketing platform that provides a wide range of tools for email marketing, automation, audience management, landing pages and analytics. It is used by companies of all sizes to create and manage email campaigns, build customer journeys, and analyze marketing performance. With its countless features, user-friendly design, and extensive integrations, Mailchimp helps businesses connect with the right audiences, grow their customer base, and achieve marketing goals more efficiently.

Why People are Using Mailchimp?

People are using Mailchimp as it’s one of the most famous email marketing software services equipped with a range of advanced features also in other digital marketing fields like marketing automation, building landing pages, web push notifications or even SMS marketing. Mailchimp’s pros most commonly noted by users in their reviews published online include the following items:

  • easy-to-use drag-and-drop email builder, appropriate also for digital marketing newbies,
  • a suite of marketing automation features for creating workflows, automating follow-ups, integrating CRM data, and personalizing customer interactions,
  • a lot of fresh and up-to-date email templates for various campaigns and industries,
  • advanced segmentation options (they are particularly useful if you manage many or/and complicated email marketing campaigns),
  • transactional emails and sales tools (from selling products and integrating payments to establishing whole sales funnels).

Mailchimp provides a user-friendly, all-in-one platform for email marketing, automation, audience management, and analytics. It’s easy to design, schedule, and track campaigns, making it especially helpful for small businesses, solopreneurs, and those looking to get into email marketing.” (Matt R., G2, Sep 4, 2024)

What are Mailchimp Disadvantages?

Mailchimp’s downsides are related to its e-mail marketing tools’ limitations (especially in personalizing design and setting advanced sending options), frequent bugs and delivery issues, price increases’ once your lists grow, decreasing quality of customer support and bombarding clients (also past ones) with marketing content. The full list of disadvantages indicated many times by users on review portals within the last few months presents as follows:

  • limited options in email builder, especially in terms of customization, triggers and automations set-up,
  • price per month increases as your business grows making it very expensive and sometimes unprofitable (a relatively cheap Mailchimp’s free plan is sufficient only as a starting point for very small businesses),
  • customer support is getting worse over time (delays and technical knowledge gaps occur),
  • more bugs and glitches than in the best Mailchimp alternatives like GetResponse or Landingi,
  • aggressive marketing and spammy newsletters (+ unsubscription issues).

Sometimes it is very slow to load. Also pricing structure – the costs can become prohibitive, leading to a potential downside for budget-conscious users or those with rapidly expanding contact lists.” (Agata M., G2, Feb 15, 2024)

Mailchimp Key Features

Mailchimp’s core features revolve around creating and managing email marketing campaigns, providing a user-friendly interface with customizable templates and segmentation options to effectively reach targeted audiences. Additionally, Mailchimp’s advanced marketing automation tools enable users to build complex customer journeys and automate workflows, helping to nurture leads, boost engagement, and drive conversions with minimal manual effort. Finally, the platform offers many side features, which are not as great as the core ones, but provide users with more digital marketing opportunities, minimizing their need for subscribing to other platforms and tools. I mean here, first of all, basic sales CRM, landing pages (and simple websites), as well as web push notifications. Alternatives to Mailchimp rarely have all of it in their toolkits.

Email Marketing Software

Mailchimps is undoubtedly more than just an email marketing tool. It’s a complex and versatile e-mail marketing platform, one of the greatest in the business. And indeed, this is the domain, where it leads the way.

In general, Mailchimp offers a comprehensive range of email marketing features designed to help businesses create, manage, and optimize their email campaigns. The platform provides tools that cater to both small businesses and larger enterprises, enabling them to craft targeted email communications that resonate with their audiences.

One of the core features is the email design tool, which includes a drag-and-drop editor and a selection of pre-designed templates. This tool allows users to create visually engaging emails without needing technical design skills.

Templates are customizable in almost every detail, ensuring that businesses can maintain brand consistency while delivering professional-quality emails. You can filter templates available in their library by email purpose, style and industry, which allows you to find one you’re looking for in a snap. Note that a major part of templates aren’t included in the free plan, or they are available only if additionally paid. It looks like most of the templates in color (hence, the most attractive ones) belong to the latter category.

The editor is really intuitive and works smoothly. I haven’t encountered any bugs mentioned by users in their reviews. You can compose your messages using pre-made blocks for headings, paragraphs, buttons, dividers, spacers, images, logos, videos, socials, surveys, codes, apps, products and product recs.

You can also use a creative assistant, which identifies your brand and then creates designs for you instantly.

The number of customization options is more than sufficient (from sizes, styles, and custom formatting to a set of actions assigned to an element), but, anyway it’s not so extensive as in a few other top email marketing services (e.g. GetResponse). From a range of more advanced features, I especially like dynamic content, which enables personalized messaging based on the recipient’s profile or behavior.

We also can’t overlook the AI feature for generating message content, from headlines to paragraphs. The content itself is somewhat generic but can sometimes serve as a good starting point for further development.

Lastly, let’s emphasize that Mailchimp easily integrates with many other marketing tools, making it suitable to be a part of your digital marketing software ecosystem.

Marketing Automation Solutions

Automation capabilities are another key feature of Mailchimp, allowing you to set up automation workflows for a variety of marketing scenarios, such as onboarding new subscribers, nurturing leads through a series of emails, or re-engaging inactive customers. These automated sequences can be triggered by specific actions or behaviors, ensuring timely and relevant communication with the audience. Automation helps businesses save time and maintain consistent engagement without the need for manual intervention.

Audience segmentation is another crucial part of Mailchimp’s email marketing functionality. Users can segment their email lists based on various criteria, such as demographic information, past purchase behavior, engagement levels, and more. It enables for more targeted and effective email campaigns, helping to improve open and click-through rates.

Mailchimp also provides predictive analytics features, such as customer lifetime value and purchase likelihood scores, which can further refine targeting strategies.

In addition to these features, the platform offers detailed analytics and reporting tools that provide insights into campaign performance. Users can track key metrics such as open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates, allowing them to understand how their emails are performing and make data-driven decisions.

Finally, Mailchimp also supports A/B testing, which allows users to experiment with different subject lines, content formats, and sending times to optimize their emails for better engagement.

Landing Pages

Mailchimp also offers a landing page builder, which makes it an even more comprehensive platform. However, each serious alternative to Mailchimp has a similar feature in its tool stack too.

Mailchimp’s page builder works very similar to their email builder, and even the building blocks are almost the same. New elements are boxed images (a kind of grid for images, which is very useful), boxed text, and a share button.

You know how easy it is to use tools based on the drag-and-drop interface, so I won’t elaborate on it further. It works flawlessly, just like their e-mail builder.

I’m, however, disappointed with their templates. Only a few are available, which pales in comparison to Landingi’s over three hundred! One template per each potential page goal is a very weak number. It shows clearly that their builder is a side feature only.

But let’s state it clearly: the templates themselves look appealing, and you cannot complain about them in terms of design.

Also, you have at your disposal an AI content editor, which streamlines crafting copy for your pages. The outputs are, unfortunately, far from optimal. This feature speeds up your work, but it won’t do it all for you. Thorough editing is a must.

An additional plus for the text editor widget, which allows you to personalize styles in almost every aspect, just like in Microsoft Office.

And that’s all if it comes to advantages. Mailchimp’s builder is easy to use but has only basic features. What is worse, it doesn’t have elements that make landing pages very effective digital marketing tools. I mean here especially optimization and technical tools. Landingi is here a great Mailchimp alternative, as it offers, among others:

  • advanced A/B testing features (with multivariate and split testing options),
  • user behavior and micro conversion tracking on your pages (with EventTracker),
  • a separate mobile editor which is a “must” for mobile optimization,
  • form creator built-in in the editor (without it, lead generation efforts are doomed to fail),
  • automated translations to many languages.

You won’t find these crucial features in Mailchimp.

Other Features

Mailchimp also offers a variety of other features like social media campaigns, CRM tools, ads management or e-commerce options. All of these can enhance your digital marketing efforts.

With a social media suite by Mailchimp, you can create, schedule, and publish posts directly to platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter from within Mailchimp. This integration allows for a more cohesive marketing strategy, helping users manage multiple channels from a single dashboard.

CRM tools enable businesses to manage and nurture customer relationships. One by Mailchimp allows you to keep track of your audience’s interactions, segment contacts, and create targeted campaigns based on user behavior.

Mailchimp also provides ads management, where users can design and run Google, Facebook, and Instagram ads directly from the platform. This feature helps streamline the process of managing ads alongside email marketing efforts, making it easier to coordinate multi-channel campaigns.

Lastly, Mailchimp supports e-commerce integrations with platforms like Shopify, WooCommerce, and Magento, allowing businesses to synchronize their online stores with their platform.

Mailchimp Integrations

Mailchimp scores quite well in terms of connectivity, having integrations with over 170 tools. The number of possible connections is comparable with Landingi. Let’s look through the categories of integration and the most popular apps therein:

  • Analytics (Google Analytics, CallRail, Mixpanel, Skyvia, leadsbridge, Geckoboard ),
  • Booking & Scheduling (Wishpond, LeadBoxer, Chargify, SurveySparrow), Connector Services (Zapier, Autopilot, Make),
  • Contact Management (Zoho CRM, Zendesk Sell, Shopify, monday.com),
  • Content (involve.me, Wistia, UpContent, Outgrow, WisePops),
  • Customer Service (Databox, ReferralHero),
  • Other (Facebook, Wix, Canva, Adobe Commerce, Stripe, LinkedIn).

Mailchimp Pricing & Plans

Mailchimp offers a free plan and three paid plans with prices ranging from $13 to thousands of dollars per month. The initial prices for each plan look encouraging, but as is often the case, the devil is hidden in the details. More contacts, more traffic, more features entail more charges. One thing is certain: a plan priced at $13 per month is quite useless for real marketing purposes, as 99% of businesses will exceed the limits set for that plan and end up having to pay more. In Table 1 below, we present the starting prices for each Mailchimp plan and the features included in them. However, in the following Table 2, we show the real costs including, for example, contact limit ranges across various plans.

Landingi – Best Mailchimp Alternative

Landingi was founded in 2013 by Błażej Abel in Poland as a response to the growing demand for accessible and effective landing page creation tools. Initially developed to help marketers create high-converting landing pages without needing advanced technical skills, the platform quickly gained traction for its user-friendly approach. Over the years, Landingi has evolved to become comprehensive digital marketing platform with tools for various purposes. Known for its reliability and continuous innovation, it has become a trusted solution for businesses of all sizes, from small startups to large enterprises like Sony, DAT or Opera.

What is Landingi?

Landingi is a versatile platform that offers a range of tools for creating, optimizing, and managing landing pages, pop-ups, and forms without any coding required. It is widely used by digital marketers, agencies, and businesses to improve lead generation, drive conversions, and support marketing campaigns. The platform provides value through its extensive template library, drag-and-drop editor, A/B testing, and integration with various marketing tools, enabling users to build effective marketing assets quickly and efficiently.

Why People are Using Landingi?

Users prefer Landingi for its advanced, yet intuitive and user-friendly page builder that eliminates the need for coding (or having substantial technical knowledge), making it suitable even for amateurs. Its vast collection of templates and refined testing tools empower marketers to experiment and improve their campaigns for optimal performance. On the other hand, Landingi’s seamless compatibility with various marketing tools and its reasonable pricing make it a flexible and affordable solution. Below, I present an overview of Landingi’s major advantages, compiled from reviews on sites like G2, GetApp, and TrustPilot, focusing on the most commonly cited strengths:

  • powerful landing page builder with clear-to-navigate interface and plenty of personalization options,
  • ability to create not only landing pages but also micropages, portfolio pages, pop-ups, forms, sections, lightboxes and other assets,
  • the most extensive selection of landing page templates crafted for various industries, marketing purposes, funnel stages, etc.,
  • prompt, professional, and – what’s the most imporant – human-to-human support (no AI bots),
  • detailed analytics suite including testing tools, user behavior and microconversion tracking, and customizable dashboards,
  • solutions dedicated to agencies and corporations (many account management functions, Smart Sections, and advanced security behind the platform),
  • frequent releases of product improvements, new features and templates,
  • 170+ integrations with tools for marketing automation, email marketing tools, CRMs, marketing automation platforms, etc.

Landingi is extremely easy to set up, even for those with no experience in website management. The process is intuitive and requires no specialist knowledge. Also, the platform comes with a wealth of useful additional features that make it easy to create professional pages. The ability to integrate with various tools and add-ons makes it a very versatile tool.” (Kamil C., G2, Jun 28, 2024).

What are Landingi Disadvantages?

Landingi’s drawbacks mentioned by users include the time required to navigate the platform with ease (concerns particularly advanced features), limited editing capabilities for videos and animations, and slight alignment issues with its auto-generated mobile pages. While negative reviews are rare, some positive feedback bears critiques and recommendations for improvements. They are also reflected in the list below, which details disadvantages of Landingi, most commonly mentioned by users in their reviews:

  • learning to use the platform’s advanced tools and functions smoothly requires a bit of time and practice,
  • the automatically generated mobile layout often needs some fine-tuning for perfection,
  • visual editing capabilities are somewhat basic and could benefit from expanding,
  • the steps for connecting a domain could be streamlined for easier setup.

Mobile versions could be better, they should also offer a way to build quizzes and conditional logic.” (Vivek G., G2, Dec 15, 2023)

Landingi Key Features

Landingi’s key features are its intuitive drag-and-drop editor for creating landing pages, an extensive library of over 400 customizable templates, robust A/B and multivariate testing tools for optimizing conversions, seamless integration with various marketing platforms, advanced analytics for performance tracking, a range of AI driven tools for SEO and content editing, and automation features to streamline workflows for marketers and agencies alike.

Powerful and Versatile Landing Page Builder

Recognized by Semrush as a top digital marketing tool, Landingi excels in creating and optimizing professional landing pages.

The platform comes up with a powerful drag-and-drop editor giving users an impressive variety of customization options, allowing them to design every landing page they imagine. Pages can be created using predefined templates or totally from scratch. The second option is dedicated to picky designers or users with some technical knowledge. Although it can be more time-consuming, it gives you control over every aspect, so you can really turn your vision intro reality.

The editor works flawleslys and the navaigation is extremely easy. Every widget/element/option is where you suppose it is.

Though widely known as a landing page builder, Landingi also supports the creation of one-pagers, microsites, mini websites, pop-ups, forms, sections, and other elements. Users can leverage a range of predefined components in their designs:

  • text boxes,
  • forms (with a bunch of ready-to-use templates),
  • buttons (+payment buttons),
  • images, icons, and visual effects,
  • accordions,
  • videos and animations,
  • counters,
  • custom codes.

An important advantage of Landingi over Mailchimp are also section templates. I mean here complete layouts for individual sections, which can be put on the created landing page and then personalized in terms of colors, copy, fonts, etc. This ultimate time-saver is also missing in Mailchimp, while Landingi offer more than 100 kits for sections (like about pages, testimonials, counters, numbers, portfolios, headers, footers, pricing tables, and more).

Smart Sections is another standout feature, allowing users to easily add and modify sections on multiple pages simultaneously, saving the effort of rebuilding each one from scratch.

Moreover, Landingi includes a mobile view editor that helps create mobile-responsive landing pages effortlessly. Users can choose to manually tweak the dimensions, visibility, and placement of elements or let the platform generate an optimized mobile version with a single click.

400+ Templates

Landingi offers a selection of over 300 template kits for landing pages, which is uncomparable with a few templates provided by Mailchimp. Users can easily filter these templates based on purpose, industry, or color, making it quick and simple to find the perfect design for their needs.

As previously stated, advanced users with distinct needs can design landing pages from the ground up. This way they are able to customize every detail precisely to their liking.

One more advantage of Landingi over Mailchimp is access to more than 100 templates for other digital assets, including pop-ups, lightboxes, and forms. Here are some sample templates specifically for form layouts:

AI Suite and Multilingual Pages

Landingi’s AI toolkit is continuously evolving and now features several tools to help generate targeted content based on minimal data inputs delivered from your end. Aditionally, Landingi provides AI-driven tools for improving on-site SEO and a very useful function of background removal from images.

Anyway, the most popular feature from Landingi’s AI suite is AI Assistant. It’s powered by the latest version of ChatGPT, enhanced with extensive training data and predefined prompts. It crafts tailored copy that aligns with your brand’s objectives, audience, and tone of voice. By entering details about your business, target audience, and preferred style, it can produce complete content ranging from headlines to full sections of text. Although minor adjustments may be needed, the output is generally more refined than what other AI tools deliver.

If the generated copy isn’t to your liking, you can easily click the “regenerate” button to get a fresh version almost instantly.

Additionally, there’s a feature that could revolutionize current digital marketing practices: automated translations. This is one of Landingi’s standout advantages, as it’s not something you’ll find in other landing page builders (Mailchimp doesn’t offer it either). This tool allows for rapid translation of your content, enabling you to create pages in multiple languages, which is an effective way to broaden your business’s geographical reach and boost conversions, assuming your offerings cater to multiple markets. It’s my personal favorite across the range of marketing automation features in Landingi.

CRO Tools and Analytics

Conversion optimization and analytics tools are one of the most nailed in the Landingi, as the company tries to make it their UVP over competitors like Unbounce, Instapage or Mailchimp. Hence, Landingi features comprehensive array of built-in analytics and testing tools, offering a wealth of data that helps users assess conversions and make strategic, data-informed adjustments to boost conversion rates.

With Landingi’s complete CRO suite, users avoid the hassle and expense of purchasing and setting up third-party tools that usually require advanced technical skills. Two standout CRO features in Landingi are:

  • A flexible testing package that includes a range of options like basic A/B testing, multivariate testing, and split testing, helping you leverage data to identify the best-performing page versions. You can test various elements, including headlines, content, main visuals, and backgrounds. This approach provides clarity on what drives conversions, allowing for strategic, data-supported adjustments that improve outcomes and strengthen campaign performance.
  • EventTracker offers a detailed overview of user interactions on your pages, such as button clicks, form fills, scrolling actions, video engagement, and payment completions. It provides important analytics data and serves as a solid alternative to Google Analytics for screening and managing landing page metrics. It avoids many of GA4’s limitations, such as a complex setup process, reliance on third-party cookies, manual configuration for tracking events, lack of visual tools for tracking, and limited support options. The image below showcases the different events that EventTracker can monitor.

If, however, Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is your go-to analytics platform, integrating it with Landingi is straightforward and hassle-free.

For users looking for simpler options, Landingi provides basic dashboards and charts that display key metrics, such as page views and conversion rates. These tools deliver an immediate, clear understanding of your page’s performance.

Account Management and Scalability Features

Account management and scalability solutions are further domains where Landingi has shown its major focus. They may not be necessary for small business owners with one or two landing pages, but the issue is of great importance for agencies and enterprises needing large-scale operations on tens or even hundreds of pages.

In Landingi, you can create multiple user accounts and sub-accounts, each dedicated to different clients, campaigns, or types of sites. You may also control them with customizable permissions and user-friendly dashboards to maintain smooth and efficient operations.

Furthermore, the platform is particularly suited for convenient managing multi-page campaigns. Two key features that make this possible are:

  • The Smart Sections feature allows you to edit one section to update numerous landing pages at once, with the changes instantly appearing on all pages that contain that section. This functionality is highly efficient for handling extensive digital marketing campaigns, like PPC ones in e-commerce.
  • Dynamic content, in contrast, makes it possible for a single page (single URL) to present different content depending on the audience. For example, an international travel agency’s landing page can automatically adjust to show content in the visitor’s local language and display prices in the appropriate currency, making the experience more relevant and user-friendly.

Powerful Infrastructure and High Performance

Small businesses may tend to neglect this aspect, but for bigger companies, it is crucial. Landingi offers a top level of security and high performance for created landing pages by implementing Amazon Web Services cloud solutions. Essential features, including two-factor authentication and up-to-date Re-Captcha, are further supported by regular external penetration tests. This comprehensive security framework ensures excellent protection and high reliability, establishing Landingi as a favored option among top international firms like:

  • Sony,
  • Warner Bros,
  • Opera,
  • Nationale-Nederlanden,
  • DAT,
  • PayU,
  • CBRE,
  • foodWell.

Landingi Integrations

With over 170 integrations across various digital marketing platforms and applications, Landingi offers far greater flexibility than Mailchimp in terms of connectivity. This makes it valuable for businesses that need to integrate a variety of tools into a unified workflow. The following list outlines the key integration options available in Landingi, categorized by software type:

  • email marketing software (MailChimp, GetResponse, Freshmail, Klaviyo, SendFox, ActiveCampaign, etc.),
  • tools for contact management and creating marketing automation workflows (Zoho CRM, HubSpot Marketing Hub, Pipeline, Thrive Coach, Creatio, ConvertKit, Keap, Brevo, LeadSqured, Firmao and more),
  • apps and platforms for ecommerce businesses (like Salesforce, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, PayPal, Stripe, Chargify, CartPanda, Edrone),
  • customer support and communication tools (e.g., Zendesk, Freshchat, Intercom, Constant Contact, Convolo and WhatsApp),
  • data tracking and analysis tools (including Google Analytics, Crazy Egg, Hotjar, Campaign Monitor, Mixpanel, Google Tag Manager, Piwik PRO, Pinterest Tag, TikTok Pixel),
  • digital adveritsing platforms (with Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising at the forefront),
  • other tools (Zapier, Calendly, Booksy, Drip, ClickSend, reCAPTCHA, Excel, Spotify, Gmail, Slack, Airbnb, Trustpilot and many more).

Note that you can also connect Landingi with Mailchimp!

Landingi Pricing & Plans

Landingi offers four plans with prices ranging from $24 to $820 per month (this is valid for annual billing). Let’s dig into deeper into details.

Why Landingi are Best Mailchimp Alternative?
