TABLE OF CONTENT

If you are searching for the best MailerLite alternatives, you probably know all its strengths and weaknesses: competitive prices, extensive email marketing functions, and numerous automations on one side, but limited and inaccurate analytics, a complicated interface, and an average, buggy landing page builder on the other. In this article, we present the best alternative to MailerLite in this last area: Landingi!

We test both tools, outline their features, and analyze their pros and cons based on user reviews from G2, GetApp, and Trustpilot.

If you’re well-versed with MailerLite, you can go directly to the Landingi section. Below, you’ll find a quick summary of the essential features and rates for both competitors.

Let’s start!

Make your sections smartable and let go of mundane manual tasks with Smart Sections! An easy way to manage bulk changes.

MailerLite

MailerLite, established in 2010 by Ignas Rubežius, is headquartered in Vilnius, Lithuania. The company specializes in offering solutions for digital marketing, particularly focusing on email marketing and automation. Over the years, MailerLite has garnered attention and support from a global user base, indicating strong confidence in its business model and potential for growth.

What is MailerLite?

MailerLite is an email marketing tool designed to help businesses create, manage, and optimize email campaigns. It features a variety of functionalities, including drag-and-drop email editor, automation workflows, A/B testing, and some analytics. MailerLite also integrates with numerous marketing tools and CRMs, providing a comprehensive solution for managing email marketing efforts efficiently.

Why People are Using MailerLite?

People are using MailerLite due to the reasonable price/quality ratio (especially for small businesses with relatively short e-mail marketing contact lists), its easily usable drag-and-drop email and page editor, and quality support delivered via different channels. The full list of advantages mentioned by users on G2, GetApp and Trustpilot is presented below (only items indicated more than 5 times are included):

  • quite extensive email marketing software and automation features,
  • built-in drag-and-drop editor for creating landing pages and full websites (mainly microsites or micropages),
  • excellent customer support (human, patient, thorough and available 24/7),
  • easy migration from other platforms and integrations with third-party tools,
  • free version ideal for solo entrepreneurs and small businesses.

Without any help or prior experience, I managed to create a landing page and gained some subscribers from it (means I did it right). The interface is quite easy to manage and learn.” (Sotto V., GetApp, 2022)

What are MailerLite Disadvantages?

MailerLite disadvantages comprise a few usability issues, feature limitations and prices increasing once your campaigns expand. The complete list of weak spots mentioned by users in reviews is as follows (only bullet points repeated in at least 5 reviews are taken into account):

  • less versatile in functions compared to competitors (regardless we discuss e-mail marketing tools or their landing page builder),
  • some inconveniences with e-mail/page’s layout editing, lack of full flexibility,
  • buggy, inaccurate analytics with only basic reporting features and without behavioral data on users’ actions,
  • complicated and not intuitive process of adding own domain to created pages,
  • additional charges imposed, e.g., as your contact list grows.

We are testing out this platform amidst numerous options available in the market, making it challenging to decide. However, we find this platform to be quite basic. While simplicity can be beneficial in certain aspects, discovering that even a welcome or double opt-in email is overly simplistic, requiring significant workarounds to create a quality email, diminishes the value of investing in this platform.” (L. Quintana, 6 June 2024, TrustPilot)

MailerLite Key Features

Key features of MailerLite include a broad email marketing service with many advanced features and several additional tools for marketing automation, building landing pages, managing online events, performing SMS campaigns, and more.

Landing Page Templates

Like all of the MailerLite alternatives, the platform allows you to create landing pages from scratch or by editing premade templates to save time. The number of templates (49) is somewhat disappointing, but all of them look fresh and differ greatly from each other, giving you pretty wide creative possibilities.

It looks like there is one template per business field (marketing, real estate, restaurant, photography, etc.) and a marketing goal (sale, promotion, webinar, etc.). It’s modest, but all the common possible applications are covered.

There are no filters in the kit library, but given their limited number, you can quickly identify the ones you’re looking for.

Easy-To-Use yet Clunky Landing Page Builder

The number of blocks (widgets) you can use on created pages is more than sufficient and comprises not only typical ones like text, button images, or videos but also a carousel, testimonials, multi-column sections, dividers, spacers, social icons, forms, tables, surveys, quizzes, countdowns, events, maps, custom HTML codes and accordions.

The builder’s user interface is, naturally, based on drag-and-drop mode, making it easy to work with even for total beginners without tech knowledge or coding skills. However, compared to Landingi or ConvertKit, there are fewer customization options, so if you are picky and aim for sophisticated layouts, you might not be fully satisfied.

MailerLite also offers a separate mode for building thank-you pages (“Success pages”). Unlike in Landingi, you begin with a blank canvas showing a “Thank you” message rather than a fully designed page that aligns with the connected landing page layout.

Unfortunately, MailerLite doesn’t allow you to edit created pages in mobile mode. You can show or hide chosen elements on desktop and mobile views but the personalization features are overall poor. It’s surprising, as these days mobile optimization and personalizing campaigns for each viewport separately is one of the milestones to make them succeed.

There are, finally, two things that make using MailerLite’s builder really frustrating: ultra-slow loading times and constant lags. I’ve tested dozens of landing page software, and honestly none were as troublesome in everyday work as MailerLite is. All of these make the editing process far longer than necessary (not to mention how irritating it is itself).

AI Content Assistant

MailerLite also develops AI content tools for landing pages and email marketing services. Their AI Assistant is currently able to provide you with, e.g., headlines, product descriptions, or even full newsletters.

The generation process is indeed lightning-fast, but the quality is far from optimal. The program suffers from the same issues as many similar solutions: it relies on a simple adaptation of a language model (likely ChatGPT 3 or 3.5) without custom prompts and adequate training on a large dataset of queries.

Also, customization options are fewer than those available in competitive tools by Landingi, Unbounce, or Leadpages. You can’t precisely define a target audience, tone of voice or insert detailed information on your brand. In the case of AI use, it weighs heavily because, as is well known, the more information (and more relevant ones) provided in the input, the more adequate the generated output.

Other Essential Features

As you probably know, MailerLite primarily offers email marketing services including tools for sending messages, creating and managing contact lists, tracking email deliverability, and more.

The platform is also a basic-level automation builder, as you can use it to create automated email sequences and workflows to nurture and engage leads through different stages of a customer journey.

Finally, MailerLite features advanced segmentation, allowing you to target specific groups within your audience for more personalized and better-targeted communication.

MailerLite Integrations

MailerLite offers seamless integration with over 100 external platforms and apps (they claim 149 connections are possible, but it’s an overestimation or just a historical score). The most popular ones, divided into marketing categories, are as follows:

  • marketing automation (e.g., Zapier, Make, Integrately),
  • email marketing (among others, MailChimp, Emailable, Clearout),
  • ecommerce platforms (BigCommerce, PayPal, Shopify, Magento, etc.),
  • forms (JetForm, OutGrow, WPForms, Poptin and more),
  • customer relationship management (HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesflare, Salesforce, ZohoCRM and similar),
  • landing page platforms (e.g., Landingi, ClickFunnels, Leadpages, Unbounce, Carrd),
  • communication and customer support apps (Slack, Zendesk and a few others),
  • (Outgrow, Airtable, Trello, Canva, Figma, etc.)

MailerLite Pricing & Plans

MailerLite pricing includes four plans: “Free” plan is for… free, “Growing Business” is for $242 a month, “Advanced” is for $279 a month, while the “Enterprise” plan has custom prices to be set individually with sales. Note that these numbers for paid plans apply if you have up to 45K subscribers. The prices increase dramatically as your list grows. For example, “Advanced” plan costs $396 a month if your list consists of 100K contacts and $1710 if it exceeds 500K. In a nutshell: small businesses = small prices, big players = big charges.

Landingi – Best MailerLite Alternative

Landingi, founded in 2013 by Błażej Abel, is headquartered in Gliwice, Poland. The company focuses on providing comprehensive solutions for digital marketing, with a particular emphasis on landing page creation and optimization. Over the years, Landingi has attracted significant interest from users worldwide, demonstrating strong confidence in its growth potential and business model. The company has also been recognized for its contributions to the marketing technology sector, earning various awards and accolades for its innovative approach.

What is Landingi?

Landingi is a landing page creator designed to empower businesses to create and optimize high-converting landing pages. The platform includes a range of functionalities such as drag-and-drop editing, A/B testing, advanced analytics, AI solutions, and integrations with various marketing tools. Landingi aims to provide users with a full stack of tools for effective lead generation, enhancing conversion rates and boosting online sales.

Why People are Using Landingi?

Users appreciate Landingi for its user-friendly drag-and-drop editor, enabling the design of attractive and conversion-oriented landing pages, as well as for strong customization capabilities, numerous pre-designed templates, and a wide range of tools such as A/B testing, analytics, and constantly developed AI features. Below is a list of the platform’s key strengths, compiled from reviews published on G2, GetApp, and TrustPilot. Only comments frequently repeated by users more than 5 times are included:

  • extremely intuitivetool for building landing pages, microsites, pop-ups, forms, sections, lightboxes, etc. without code and any tech background,
  • a powerful collection of element templates designed by professionals for various industries and marketing applications,
  • very competent customer support with 100% human interaction (live chat support without bots),
  • advanced features for user behavior analytics and A/B/x testing,
  • clear and reasonable pricing with no unexpected fees,
  • all-inclusive solutions for agencies and big enterprises (comprising advanced account management, Smart Sections, and other features),
  • easy integration with a universe of digital marketing tools and platforms,
  • ongoing innovation and regular releases of new functions.

It’s very fast. Landing page design is easy and also very helpful in that you can duplicate and repeat the use of the pages. Very nice A/B option by default implemented. Support is also very very helpful and fast! Love it all the way” (Jelle D., Jun 11 2024, G2)

What are Landingi Disadvantages?

Landingi has a couple of minor downsides. Learning the interface requires some time, and there are no built-in email marketing tools (you can connect a few via integrations). Overall, negative reviews are infrequent. Most improvement suggestions come with positive reviews. The main points raised by users on G2, GetApp and Trustpilot are below:

  • learning the interface and using all the features takes a bit of time,
  • the auto-made mobile view is useful but needs more fixes to be great,
  • the options for customizing video and animation could be more developed.

I wish there were more onboarding support resources available. Although I found my onboarding call with the team extremely helpful and insightful” (Jessica V., G2, 28 October 2023)

Landingi Key Features

Landingi’s Key Features comprise an intuitive drag-and-drop editor, over 400 customizable templates, advanced A/B testing, Smart Sections, EnentTracker, a set of AI-driven solutions and dynamic content for personalized marketing. These tools streamline landing page creation and optimization for more effective lead generation and increasing conversion rates.

Top-Quality Landing Page Builder

The standout feature of Landingi is its user-friendly drag-and-drop builder, which offers a true abundance of customization options. Although they call it a “landing page builder”, you can use it to build a vast array of digital assets, from landing pages and micropages through forms to pop-ups and lightboxes. You can build all of these things using pre-made templates or start from scratch to keep control over the tiniest details. The page creation blocks available in Landingi include:

  • text boxes,
  • forms (with ready-to-use patterns),
  • buttons (also for payments),
  • images, icons, and effects,
  • videos or animations,
  • counters,
  • custom codes, and more.

Landingi also provides numerous section templates that can be utilized in any landing page you construct. They have kits for the following section types: about pages, portfolios, benefits, services, numbers, testimonials, forms, headers, footers, contact details, counters, ebooks, features, opening hours, products, pricing, teams, thank you pages, and videos.

You can compose your pages from the pre-made elements and then customize them for your brand identity and marketing goals; It’s surely a quicker way compared to starting from “0”.

Additionally, Landingi features Smart Sections, which let you quickly enable or modify specific sections across multiple pages with just one click.

Another noteworthy platform’s feature is the mobile view editor, aiding users in tailoring landing pages for mobile devices to ensure a high-quality visual experience. Possible adjustments concern, among others, element sizes, visibility, and placement. Additionally, with one click, you can immediately obtain a new mobile layout proposal, which streamlines the process and saves your time.

Hundreds of Templates for Digital Creations

Landingi provides a significantly larger selection of templates than its competitors, boasting over 400 kits designed for landing pages, pop-ups, and sections. They are organized by purpose, industry, and color, allowing users to effortlessly search for options perfectly fitted to their needs.

As I mentioned earlier, users who prefer to build pages from scratch and maintain complete control over the process also have the option to do so.

AI Toolkit

Landingi is equipped with a suite of AI tools featuring a copy generator powered by the most recent version of ChatGPT, SEO console and basic image editor.

Unlike MailerLite’s tool, Landingi’s AI Assistant utilizes predefined prompts to craft precise, customized copy, targeted for the appropriate goal, persona and brand messaging style. By providing essential details about your company, audience and the tone of voice, you can swiftly generate full content for your pages, from headlines and slogans to larger copy pieces for individual sections.

What’s more, you can even generate content in different languages than the source one, which saves you money spent on translations.

If the initial result does not meet expectations, the ‘regenerate’ function provides a quick and effective alternative.

Next AI function is related to SEO. AI Assistant is able to generate for you proper descriptions and meta descriptions for whole landing pages. Leaving them empty or filling with irrelevant content, may decrease your pages’ rank in Google search results.

Landingi constantly develops also its AI-driven image editing options. At present, users can easily remove and modify image backgrounds with a single click. Additional advanced features will be rolled out soon.

Harness the power of AI to generate copy, edit images, and improve SEO. All within a single platform.
Save time and get one step closer to perfection.

Tools for Improving Conversions

Landingi shows its power also in the domain of conversion optimization. The platform has on the board several tools for testing and analytics, which – skilfully used – can deliver data for conversion analysis. The latter is crucial to making smart design decisions and boosting conversion rates. You don’t need any external tools for CRO – all the necessary staff is on the board, built-in in the platform. Two functions look particularly valuable here:

  • Landingi’s testing tools encompass simple A/B tests as well as multivariate and split testing, allowing you to use data to determine which landing page versions are the most effective. You can experiment with different headlines, copy, hero images, backgrounds, and other elements. This approach helps you identify which components can boost conversion rates, enabling you to make data-driven adjustments for better performance and campaign outcomes.
  • On the other hand, EventTracker offers thorough tracking of user interactions on your page, such as button clicks, form submissions, scrolling percentages, video engagement, payment events, and more, to provide vital insights for analytics. It serves as a powerful alternative to Google Analytics for landing pages, however, without main GA4’s shortcomings like multi-step configuration, reliance on third-party cookies, manual event creation, lack of visual maps, and inadequate human support. Below you can see the event types you can track with the said tool.

If you’re accustomed to Google Analytics, you can effortlessly connect it to Landingi.

Alternatively, if you prefer more straightforward tools, Landingi offers dashboards and charts for monitoring page visits, conversion rates, and other critical actions on your landing pages.

What is EventTracker

Solutions for Agencies and Global Brands

For agencies, enterprises, and global companies, the key advantages lie in scalability and efficient management. These include managing large volumes of pages, customizing workflows, and using advanced account management tools.

Landingi’s agency suite allows for the creation of multiple sub-accounts for different clients, campaigns, and types of sites. Each sub-account is managed with flexible permissions and easy-to-use dashboards, ensuring efficient and organized operations.

Additionally, Landingi offers specialized features for companies in need of numerous landing pages or websites involved in large-scale marketing campaigns:

  • Smart Sections allow you to update several landing pages at once by changing a single section and saving it. These updates will automatically reflect on all pages containing that section. This feature is especially useful for extensive marketing campaigns or managing multiple sales pages, saving a substantial amount of time on updates.
  • Dynamic content feature works similarly to programmatic SEO, as it delivers tailored content to different audiences (but on the same page, not on separate pages with different URLs). For instance, visitors from colder climates might see winter apparel, whereas those from warmer regions see summer clothes. This approach ensures users view relevant products, thereby boosting engagement and sales.

Super-Stable Infrastructure and Top Performance

To maintain superior website security and usability, Landingi uses cloud-based solutions provided by Amazon Web Services. The platform integrates key security features like two-factor authentication and the latest Re-Captcha technology, along with regular penetration tests conducted by independent cybersecurity experts. This thorough security approach guarantees full protection and optimal performance, positioning Landingi as a dependable platform for leading global companies like:

  • Sony,
  • Warner Bros,
  • Opera,
  • Nationale-Nederlanden,
  • DAT,
  • PayU,
  • CBRE,
  • foodWell.

Landingi Integrations

Landingi integrates with over 170 tools, making it ideal for businesses that utilize a diverse array of marketing software. The most popular tools it supports include (names organized by the software type):

  • email marketing software (GetResponse, Klaviyo, MailChimp, SendFox, Freshmail, ActiveCampaign, Constant Contact, etc.),

Why Landingi is Best MailerLite Alternative?

Among the best MailerLite alternatives, Landingi stands out as the one with the most advanced builder for different digital assets (from landing pages through microsites to pop-ups, forms and lightboxes), the greatest number of templates, more extensive and better-developed analytics, and fewer work-hindering in-app bugs. MailerLite will be a better choice only if you are going to focus on sole email marketing campaigns (and a doze of automation they need to work properly).

However, it’s good to know that both apps can work together for your digital success. You can easily integrate MailerLite with Landingi to unleash the double power of advanced e-mail marketing and lead generation solutions.

Both platforms offer a free plan and free trial for advanced features, which is perfect for testing their real potential on your own. And this is my final advice: don’t buy a pig in a poke. Double-checking and first-hand experience are almost a guarantee that you won’t be disappointed with a tool you bet on. Good luck!
