Best Zapier Alternative for Landing Pages In 2024

Zapier is one of the most versatile automation tools available, allowing users to connect over 3,000 apps to streamline their workflows. They also offer a landing page builder, which is very easy to use and can be easily integrated with other platforms’ features, but, at the same time, heavily lacks customization options, optimization and analytics features, and advanced page publishing options. Also, its interface is surprisingly weak compared to competitors. Check out the test of Zapier’s builder and discover its features, pricing, and pros & cons (based on users’ reviews). Finally, unleash its best alternative (Landingi) and explore the comparison of both platforms.

zapier automation platform with custom integrations vs landingi platform
TABLE OF CONTENT

Users looking for Zapier alternatives typically aim for versatile marketing automation tools or platforms to more effectively manage complex business processes, but some of them are also disappointed with their page builder. It’s drag-and-drop and compatible with other solutions available on the platform, but it heavily lacks customization options, optimization tools, and advanced publishing options.

In this post, we present and compare Zapier’s landing page builder and its best alternative in 2024: Landingi! We test their features, as well as check pros and cons (reported by users in reviews on G2, GetApp and Trustpilot), pricing, and integrations.

If you know all the ins and outs of Zapier’s builder, you may head straight to the Landingi section. For a quick overview of our comparison, just take a look at the table below:

zapier automation platform vs landingi comparison

Let’s get to it!

Make your sections smartable and let go of mundane manual tasks with Smart Sections! An easy way to manage bulk changes.

Zapier

Zapier, founded in 2011 by Wade Foster, Bryan Helmig, and Mike Knoop, is headquartered in San Francisco, California. The company is celebrated for its automation capabilities, allowing users to connect different apps and automate workflows without coding knowledge. Over the years, Zapier has developed a strong global user base, demonstrating significant trust in its innovative solutions and continuous growth. The platform is utilized by businesses of all sizes, including large corporations.

What is Zapier?

Zapier is an automation tool designed to help businesses and individuals connect various applications and automate repetitive tasks without requiring developer expertise. It provides features such as creating workflows (known as Zaps) that integrate multiple apps, enabling seamless data transfer and task automation. Zapier supports a vast range of applications, including popular CRMs, email marketing tools, and project management systems, making it an essential solution for optimizing productivity and efficiency across diverse business operations. Zapier also offers the landing page builder, which is still on the rise on the popularity scale.

Why People are Using Zapier?

People are using Zapier because it automates workflows by connecting various apps, saves time with seamless integrations, requires no coding skills, and supports a wide range of popular applications. Additionally, more and more users choose Zapier as their core tool for building and managing complex workflows or creating advanced marketing automation. Zapier’s advantages most frequently mentioned by users in reviews are as follows:

  • the most popular custom integrations builder in the digital marketing field,
  • very extensive integration options with thousands of external apps,
  • versatility and many tools for different goals in one platform (from integrations through databases to complex automations and landing pages),
  • pre-built automation templates (and XXX landing page templates),
  • availability, quantity and quality of learning materials (webinars, guides, community),

Zapier lives up to its reputation as an automation powerhouse. The ease of creating “Zaps” – automated workflows connecting different apps – is a breath of fresh air. I’m no coding expert, and I don’t need to be with Zapier. The user-friendly interface and intuitive design make setting up automations a breeze.” (Verified User, 2023, G2)

What are Zapier Disadvantages?

Zapier disadvantages are its relatively high cost for premium plans, limited customization options compared to more advanced automation tools, occasional delays in task execution, dependency on app APIs, which can lead to disruptions if the APIs change, and a steep learning curve for complex workflows. For the full list of pros indicated by users, just take a look below (only common opinions taken into account):

  • not so user-friendly as some of the competitor’s tools, needs time to use smoothly,
  • relatively frequent bugs, server errors and stability issues (sometimes due to maintenance or updates),
  • high pricing increasing with a number of automated tasks (at a large scale automation it can be very pricey),
  • quality of customer support: long delays (especially on lower plans), and responses that are not always prompt,
  • side features (like landing page builder) are numerous but often somewhat underdeveloped.

Automation requires reliablity. You want to make sure actions trigger consistently. Smaller customers don’t get the same level of attention as larger customers. Consistent timeouts due to server overloads and support blames the customer or the “partner”” (Dave H., 2023, G2)

Zapier Key Features

Zapier’s key features include its ability to establish advanced workflows by connecting over 3,000 apps, an intuitive drag-and-drop interface for creating automations (Zaps), built-in actions and triggers to streamline business processes, and customizable notifications to keep users informed of Zap status and performance. The platform also has a landing page builder and a few AI-driven solutions, but they are not yet as popular as its core features.

Drag-and-drop Builder

Zapier works in drag-and-drop interface and this refers also to creating landing pages. It works smoothly and is very intuitive, especially since… there are too few elements you can compose your pages with. In contrast to Zapier’s automation builder, it’s therefore turbo-easy to use. At this point, I could end my description of the Zapier’s builder advantages. Seriously. In all my previous tests of landing page builders, I never came close to making such a bold statement. But, let’s dive into the details to justify it.

Interfaces

Building digital assets in Zapier is a part of its “Interfaces” toolkit.

At the beginning the first surprise. You cannot just start building your page from the chosen template as they don’t have a kind of template library. Generally, page templates are in Zapier connected to the workflow and automation schemes for different purposes (building contact lists, AI chatbots, marketing campaigns, etc.), and they are very simple. I would call it layouts, not templates, as they offer rather specific arrangements of essential page elements than ready-to-use page designs similar to those from, for example, Landingi or Unbounce.

Once you select the workflow you’re interested in, you can create your landing page involved in it. You can choose your starting point from the list presented below:

Once selected, you’re moved to the editor, which looks very simple. Although using a drag-and-drop interface is always easy, in Zapier it doesn’t work well, as you can’t drag elements to place them wherever you want. What are the limitations and logic behind it? It’s hard to say, really. I can’t find any pattern, but dragging, for example, a form into the desired place is frequently a struggle.

The section borders are invisible, and it surely doesn’t make matters easier (at first glance, it looks like there are no sections, and everything is included on one page). Simply lines between different sections would be beneficial.

Generally, building process in Zapier is far from smooth and cannot be compared with creating pages in Carrd, Leadpages, Instapage or Landingi.

Customization Options

Customization options for the whole page, as well as for individual elements like images, copy pieces and videos, are, unfortunately, very limited compared to the most of Zapier’s alternatives.

For example, you cannot set the ALT parameters for images (which is necessary from the SEO point of view), choose borders, and implement rounded corners, shadows, and other effects. Also, the selection of action triggers is limited.

For text, you cannot choose a different font, set line spacing and size, and choose the formatting for SEO (H1, H2, H3, etc.). You cannot even choose the different colors directly in the editor.

You can do some of the things mentioned above in the theme setting, but it’s very inconvenient and… available only on the paid plans.

No ready-to-use section or element templates are available, so the the creation process is much longer than in competitors’ tools like SwipePages, Unbounce or Landingi.

Optimization, Analytics and Publishing Options

Zapier offers very basic analytics including the number of visitors and conversions without detailed data on user behavior on your pages (clicks, engagement, etc.), trends, scroll rates, etc. Without knowledge about your real audience, performing an effective optimization is almost impossible.

What’s more, there is no simple A/B testing function for landing pages. You can test full automations and workflows, but no specific pages or individual elements on them. I can’t recall any other builder that lacks this feature.

Finally, no advanced SEO settings, domain and publishing options are included.

All of these make Zapier’s builder hardly usable for real companies (not to mention larger ones with higher requirements in terms of customization, optimization, and infrastructure). It looks like it’s offered only to add it as a separate item on the feature list available in pricing. Unfortunately…

zapier page features

Other Features

First of all, it’s undeniable that Zapier is an integration platform, and this is the area where it excels the most (among Zapier’s alternatives, only Integrately can offer similar, though not as broad, capabilities). But in the last years, it has constantly evolved into a more complex digital marketing platform with numerous advanced functionalities, from creating workflow automation to managing marketing contacts. Let’s cover briefly its most relevant features other than page building and establishing integrations.

Multi-Step Zaps

Zapier allows users to create multi-step workflows, known as Zaps, which automate a series of tasks across different applications. This feature enables users to chain multiple actions within a single workflow, significantly enhancing productivity and efficiency. It reduces the need for manual intervention across various platforms.

Conditional Logic (Paths)

With the Paths feature, Zapier users can incorporate conditional logic into their workflows. This allows the automation to branch into different paths based on specific conditions, making workflows more dynamic and responsive to varying scenarios. This flexibility ensures that the right actions are taken under the right circumstances.

Built-in Apps

Zapier includes several built-in apps that enhance workflow functionality, such as Delay, Email, Filter, and Schedule. These tools help customize and control the timing and conditions under which Zaps execute, adding another layer of precision and control to the automation.

Customizable Notifications

The platform allows users to set up notifications for specific events or errors within their Zaps. This feature ensures that users are promptly informed of any issues, enabling quick resolution and minimizing downtime or disruptions to the workflow.

Zapier Integrations

Zapier has the most extensive integration portfolio in the business, including CRMs, email marketing tools, office programs, support services, IT tools, HR platforms, and many AI-driven solutions (for content generation, improving workflows, chat, and support, etc.). There’s no point in listing names or even specific examples of tools, because they have almost everything. Think of a tool name, and I assure you, it’s in Zapier’s integration catalog.

Check out how to connect Landingi with Zapier.

Zapier Pricing & Plans

Zapier offers four pricing plans: the “Free” plan goes, of course, at no cost; the “Professional” plan is for $49 a month; the “Team” plan is for $69 a month; and the “Enterprise” is for a custom price to be set with sales. The prices aren’t discouraging, are they? But the snag lies in the number of business tasks you perform with Zapier. More tasks entail more money. What is a task, and what amounts are we talking about?

Well, a task is defined as an action that your automated workflow accomplishes. For example, if your Zap contains an action to add new Google contacts, every contact that Zapier creates will be counted as one task.

The above-mentioned prices are for 2K tasks per month. If you need to perform 10K tasks, prices for “Professional” and “Team” plans increase to $129 and $169, respectively, while if you reach 100K tasks, the prices are $489 and $599 a month. And they still go higher if the number of tasks increases.

Additionally, please note that these values pertain to upfront payments for a year. If you prefer to pay monthly, the prices will also be higher.

If you lead a small business with few actions taken monthly, you can choose the “Professional” plan with a limit of 750 tasks and a price of $19 a month.

What are the key features included in each plan? You’ll find out it from the table below:

What are Landingi Disadvantages?

Landingi has a few minor downsides, such as the interface requiring some time to master, limited capabilities for editing videos and animations, and the need for adjustments to the mobile version. While purely negative reviews are scarce, some positive reviews include valuable improvement suggestions. The most frequently mentioned drawbacks are listed below:

  • mastering the interface and using the platform’s features smoothly requires some time,
  • mobile version sometimes needs additional edits for perfection,
  • more advanced tools for video and animations editing would be beneficial
  • connecting the domain should be more intuitive (especially for digital marketing newcomers).

It only lacks a possibility to create a whole website on the plaftorm. However it’s landing pages oriented so nothing to complain about.” (Verified User, 2023, G2)

Landingi Key Features

Landingi’s core features include an advanced digital asset builder with drag-and-drop user interface; 400+ templates of landing pages, pop-ups, sections and forms; A/B/x testing tools, Smart Sections, EventTracker, and a couple AI-driven functions for content generation, improving SEO and editing images.

Advanced, yet Easy-to-use Landing Page Builder

Landingi is a professional landing page builder, recognized by Semrush as the best in the field of digital marketing. It comes with a vast range of customization options, allowing you to create not only basic sites based on templates but also custom landing pages that align perfectly with your brand’s unique style and requirements.

What’s more, although it’s called a landing page builder, in fact, it can be used to build also microsites, micropages, portfolio and author pages, forms, pop-ups and lightboxes. Blocks for page building available in Landingi include, among others:

  • text boxes,
  • forms (with a bunch of ready-to-use templates),
  • buttons and payment buttons,
  • images, icons, and visual effects,
  • videos and animations,
  • counters,
  • custom codes.

Also, with a broad range of section templates, Landingi allows you to easily enhance any landing page design. The available kits cover numerous sections, including about pages, portfolios, benefits, services, numbers, testimonials, forms, headers, footers, contact details, counters, ebooks, features, opening hours, products, pricing, teams, thank you pages, and videos. You can construct your pages using these ready-made elements and customize them to fit your brand and marketing objectives, significantly speeding up the process compared to starting from scratch.

The next valuable feature is called Smart Sections. It enables users to add and modify individual sections on multiple pages with just a few clicks.

Another game-changer is the mobile view editor, which supports the creation of mobile-optimized landing pages. Users can tweak element sizes, visibility, and placement or generate a new mobile layout proposal with a single click.

400+ Templates for Pages, Pop-ups and More

With more than 300 template kits for landing pages, Landingi provides a much more extensive array of design customization options than its rivals. The templates are systematically categorized by purpose, industry, and color, allowing users to effortlessly identify the most suitable template for their unique needs.

Naturally, as previously mentioned, more advanced or demanding users have the option to build landing pages from scratch, allowing them to control every minute detail of the process.

It’s noteworthy that Landingi also offers over 100 templates for other digital assets, such as pop-ups and forms.

Versatile AI Suite + Language Pack

Landingi comes with advanced AI tools, including a copy generator powered by the latest ChatGPT, perfect for creating targeted content, as well as an SEO console and a basic image editor.

The AI Assistant uses predefined prompts to generate precise, customized copy that matches your brand’s goals, audience, and style. By providing information about your company, target audience, and tone of voice, you can quickly create complete content for your pages, from headlines to detailed text sections. While the generated output may sometimes need a bit of refinement for perfection, its overall quality is superior to what most builders offer in their AI packages.

Landingi advanced features for AI content generation, completing SEO and editing images

Furthermore, if the first output doesn’t align with your expectations, the “regenerate” feature offers a swift alternative, ensuring you always have a suitable option available.

One of the platform’s key advantages is generating content on your pages in multiple languages. This way you’ll easily save some time and money typically spent on translations. It’s real UVP if you have multilingual pages or plan to expand to different markets.

Harness the power of AI to generate copy, edit images, and improve SEO. All within a single platform.
Save time and get one step closer to perfection.

Conversion Rate Optimization Toolset

Landingi stands out in the conversion optimization field with its extensive range of built-in testing and analytics tools. They deliver essential data for conversion analysis, aiding in making data-driven design choices to boost conversion rates.

The platform encompasses all necessary CRO tools, eliminating the need for external premium apps. Two especially valuable features are:

  • a comprehensive testing feature including not only tools for basic A/B tests, but also A/B/x testing, multivariate testing, and split testing, enabling you to leverage data to pinpoint the most effective versions of your landing pages. This feature facilitates experimentation with various elements, including headlines, copy, hero images, backgrounds, and more. By determining which aspects positively impact conversion rates, you can make informed, data-backed adjustments to improve performance and achieve campaign success.
  • EventTracker offers extensive tracking of user interactions on your landing pages, including button clicks, form sends, scrolling patterns, video interactions, and payment activities. It provides vital analytics insights and acts as an efficient alternative to Google Analytics for landing pages, avoiding its more important weak spots like, among others, complex setup, dependency on third-party cookies, manual configuration of events, absence of visual mapping tools, and limited customer support. The image below demonstrates the various types of events that EventTracker can track.

If you, however, prefer GA4, you can easily link it to your Landingi account.

And the last note here: Landingi features user-friendly dashboards and charts for monitoring key metrics, such as page visits and conversion rates, on your landing pages. They give you an immediate, general picture of how your pages perform.

What is EventTracker

Management and Scalability Solutions

Agencies, enterprises, and large businesses can benefit from Landingi’s scalability and efficient management. I mean, first of all, the ability to change and manage numerous pages at once, customize workflows, and manage user accounts.

With Landingi’s toolkit, you can create multiple sub-accounts for different clients, campaigns, and site types, all managed through flexible permissions and intuitive dashboards to guarantee efficient operations.

In addition, Landingi supports companies needing numerous landing pages or sites for broad marketing campaigns. Two notable features in this field are:

  • Smart Sections, which let you update numerous, different landing pages at once by editing a single section, with changes automatically propagated to all pages that contain that section. This feature is particularly useful for large-scale marketing projects or managing several sales pages, as it saves significant time on updates.
  • Dynamic content feature able to display automatically different content to different audiences on the same page (single URL). For example, an e-commerce landing page can give different product recommendations based on the user’s location and browsing history. A customer in a colder region might see winter clothing and accessories, while a customer in a warmer region might see summer apparel and beachwear.

Reliable and High-Efficiency Infrastructure

Landingi ensures top-notch website security and usability by utilizing Amazon Web Services‘ cloud-based solutions. Essential security measures include two-factor authentication and the latest version of Re-Captcha, supported by regular penetration testing conducted by independent cybersecurity experts. This robust security framework provides comprehensive protection and optimal performance, establishing Landingi as a dependable platform for major global companies such as:

  • Sony,
  • Warner Bros,
  • Opera,
  • Nationale-Nederlanden,
  • DAT,
  • PayU,
  • CBRE,
  • foodWell.

Landingi Integrations

Landingi can be connected with more than 170 digital marketing apps and platforms, which is ideal for companies using (or needing) a lot of tools. The most important connections organized by the software type are presented below:

  • email marketing platforms (e.g., Freshmail, Klaviyo, MailChimp, SendFox, GetResponse, ActiveCampaign),
  • CRM and marketing contacts management apps (HubSpot, Pipeline, CRM, Zoho, Keap, Brevo, ConvertKit, Thrive Coach, Firmao and more),
  • ecommerce platforms (among others: BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Salesforce, Chargify, PayPal, Stripe),
  • customer support and communication tools (including Freshchat, Zendesk, Constant Contact, Intercom, Convolo, WhatsApp),
  • apps for analytics and data tracking (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Pinterest Tag, Crazy Egg, Hotjar, Campaign Monitor, Piwik PRO, Mixpanel, TikTok Pixel and others),
  • ad tools (Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, etc.),
  • various different software (e.g., Zapier, ClickSend, Calendly, Booksy, Excel, Spotify, Drip, Slack, Gmail, reCAPTCHA, Airbnb, Trustpilot, and many others).

Why Landingi is Best Zapier Alternative?

Landingi is the best Zapier alternative in the realm of landing pages, as creating landing pages is its core feature, so all the tools related to this are much more developed and offer much more power. I mean here easiness in navigating the interface, variety of templates, customization level, availability of different publishing options, and plenty of advanced optimization functions, which are the keys to making your pages effective digital marketing tools. Without AI solutions, detailed data-tracking and analytics, as well as testing capabilities, building landing pages makes very little sense.

Zapier could be a better choice only if you already have landing pages and your goal is to automate tasks and create workflows, involving them in your digital marketing campaigns. Of course, you can also make use of its almost infinite integration opportunities, but I bet you know this well.

Finally, it’s noteworthy that, as mentioned in the article, both platforms can work together, which sometimes may be the optimal solution. Landingi for creating, managing and optimizing pages + Zapier for integrating external tools and complex workflows automation. Sounds like a mastery combination!

Anyway, my final advice is to test both platforms yourself, especially since both now offer free plans and free trials. Good luck!
